Homeopathy and the location of Health

The fundamental laws of nature are timeless, ageless and abstract.   Even though science has tried to examine so many aspects of nature in order to understand it, it still does not.   The laws of nature are simple and known mostly to “herself”.

Homeopathy falls under the laws of nature.    It was Paracelsus the famous alchemist who said that 2/3 of the body lay outside it within nature, the stars, the heavens, everywhere and in order to heal one had to consider all of these ecological, astrological and other-local components which comprise the “who we are at any time”!

Practitioners of Homeopathy, methodologies and applications of homeopathy, and patients themselves,  are extremely individual.   If someone has “caught the bug” to study homeopathy, they need to find a College which will both support “who they are becoming as a homeopath” and also be able to provide them with a style of learning which suits this descriptive motif.

The Dhanvantari College of Homeopathy is a very “individual homeopathic college”.  It has over the years since its inception attracted some truly amazing people.   So many graduates have gone on to create successful practices, to teach and to enable astounding healing in their patients.  DCH  graduates who enter the world of healing, certainly make their own very personal and individualised mark on it.

What is vital when selecting a college to study with, is to cover the groundwork in terms of what is being offered and how it is delivered, but also,  to ensure that it is a college which is 100% committed to the personal growth of the student both as a homeopath and as a human being.

Just as much as Hahnemann stated in Organon 6, para 2 “The highest ideal of cure is the rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of health…..”  so too is this equally applicable for the developing homeopath.

The term “health” does not simply relate to the body.   The very principles of homeopathy are based around the somatization of internal material which remains, both suppressed and unheard.   Health is the fully rounded description of a person who is a whole and healthy human being at all levels.    A good college needs to be able to “grow healthy homeopaths”.    At Dhanvantari College of Homeopathy, we are very “organic” both in our teaching and in our extremely personal support.

After all, it is, at this stage, all about you; who you are growing into and where you are going…..and the world needs more vocational homeopaths.

Aperture Methodology = Being Able to Be Yourself

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said that,“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”

These are very wise words.  However, the step towards this state is often not made until a person has created an external “crisis”.  This crisis, of course,  comes from within.   The external crisis is simply a synchronistic reflection of what is the reality for a person, within themselves.

We can read “the world” as commencing within the constellated energy body of the birth family and see the same “story” extended out into life via early relationships, school experiences and later, employment situations and inter-personal relationships.   No-one is exempt from this.   It applies to each and every human being.   This is clearly seen through the work of such geniuses as Carl Jung, Toni Wolffe, Douglas Gillette, Robert Moore and other amazing Jungian psychologists who have made major contributions to healing and therapy providing deep insights into the somatic work of the psyche.

Within every homeopathic consultation there is a good deal of attention placed upon the constellated family energy body, its influences, for better or worse, and the patient’s perception of them.

“Perception” of course, is a very “nebulous word”.  However, as the Buddha said “If it affects you it is real” and this is quite, true of course.

It is one of the fascinating observations a homeopath comes to see after many years of practice with patients from all walks of life and from all states of dis-ease.  This ongoing story or theme, as homeopaths term it is repeated over and over through time.   At first glance, this seems boring, and why would anyone choose to do it?   But this is what occurs, because it is an unconscious occurrence and all the frustrations are taken “out on the world without” rather than the energy being utilized to examine ” that which is occurring within.”

Everybody has a deep feeling-opinion within them as to what is “going on for them” and they are all very definite about how “they feel about it”.  As an example, in the area of Recovering Children, this is clearly seen, as often times behaviours labelled by parents as “annoying” are expressions of deeper underlying feelings of expression from a child who is frustrated at “not being heard, nor understood”.   This, of course, has nothing whatsoever to do with dealing out blame or guilt.  This relates to the right to everyone to be “heard for their feelings”.   It is not something which is encouraged in this society though.  Of course, this makes no sense, as society believes it is both “advanced and superior”, but it has lost its deeper connection to families, communities, the tribe and to the sacred canopy of nature, which was able to provide balance and healing for everyone.

When everyone takes responsibility for themselves, their feelings, their stories, then there is no need to project out towards others, what one is frustrated about themselves.  In the instance of this Recovery Area, it certainly leaves a child freer to find its way back, without interference or hindrance.

In Aperture Methodology (TM) when this constellated energy of the family is examined then the homeopath is able to clearly perceive the communication of “what is needed to be done right now” and that frees the rest of the family up as well.

There has to be spaces within love, to allow everyone to heal, in their own time.  Everyone has their own distinct rhythm.  Mother Nature has her own rhythm.

Khalil Gibran once said:

“Let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.

On this moving sea, lies the great opportunity for healing.  After practising homeopathy for nearly 30 years,  and having seen this so many times, it is still truly a joy to behold.

Active Listening – Be Here now

The foundation of homeopathy is built upon active listening.   “Active listening is an important way to bring about changes in people.  Despite the popular notion that listening is a passive approach, clinical and research evidence clearly shows that sensitive listening is a most effective agent for individual …change and group development”. (Rogers and Farson)

Humans are complex and keep creating an even more complex world in which to live.  To live with the truth is difficult for many people and this is where homeopathy is superb.  Based on the foundationstone of active listening a homeopath is able to “hear” through all his senses what is real for the patient.   What is real for the patient, is the best description of their “health”.    Homeopathy defines  “the health” as comprising three major areas.  Body, Mind and Spirit.

A good homeopath is able to mirror, as an active listener, a reflection back to the patient enabling the patient to hear/see himself or herself in a way they have not been able to until this moment.  A mirror simply reflects what is before it, it does not add anything to the “image” in any way.

Most people just want to be “heard” in their lives and in fact, it is true to say that the majority of humans do not feel heard at all.  Being completely present to what someone is saying is not a passive skill.  It takes practice.   Human beings communicate in so many ways, besides what they are “saying”.     Holding the space for another human being in such a place is actually, a remedy in itself.   The homeoapthic consultation is a therapeutic event, and a remedy.  Clinical practice has revealed that to me repeatedly over the years and it is still as true today as it ever was.

Learning with the Personal Touch

Up Close and Personal is the only way to teach and to learn

The Dhanvantari College of Homeopathy

In this highly impersonal world, where everyone is a number, no-one looks up from their phones or listens to anything,  except via their ear buds, it is difficult to find any type of personal service at any level in life.

When studying for a homeopathic diploma, this makes it hard to get in touch with  or become engaged with either material in a course, or with patients later during professional life.   This is why teaching at the Dhanvantari College of Homeopathy is an organic and personal experience.  At the Dhanvantari College of Homeopathy we are committed to who you are becoming as a homeopath.  We are not interested in turning out clones.  We are interested in radical thinkers and feelers who have a driving passion for this type of healing work.

As always this was a huge success with our students. They get so much out of extending their range of knowing, both themselves and their abilities to work as healers, and return to Student Clinic, refreshed, stretched and ready to throw themselves into more casework, with lots of insights and lateral healing.

Dhanvantari College of Homoeopathy believes that not just the survival but the evolution of homeopathy, lies the quality…

Learning with the Personal Touch

Homeopathy is based around individuality.   The individual remedy for each individual patient.   The teaching and mentoring of students of homeopathy needs to be based on exactly the same principal.   I often liken it to a garden.   Its a beautiful garden, growing all different types of flowers with very individual petals, colourings and scents.

We spend a good deal of time on personal development at Dhanvantari College of Homeopathy.   A healer is only as good as their own growth.  After so many years I have found this to be an absolute truth.   So we are growing “homeopaths” in a very personal and encouraging way.  We believe that all the senses need to come into play both in studying homeopathy, participating in the student clinic and later, in private practice.

We believe that we are the only College whose mission statement is totally devoted to the personal
